Barca were looking for a goal from the very first minute but they were denied by Roma's defense. Roma focused on Messi, giving him no room to dribble the ball. De Rossi, the Italian Midfielder came on the wrong side of the scoreboard as he scored an own goal and gave the lead to the Catalan club in 38th minute. In the second half, the Italian Giants started with an appreciable attack. But they scored another own goal which resulted in increasing the gap to 2-0 in the 55th minute. After that, the She-wolf made a series of mistake letting the ball slide in again, from the legs of Gerard Pique. With a 3-0 advantage, Barcelona thought that they had the game in their hands until Edin Dzeko scored a goal for Roma in the 80th minute. There was still time for the Catalans to increase the goal margin and they didn't leave the chance when Suarez put the ball into the back of the net, just three minutes before the end of regulation time.
Barcelona have got an advantage in their hands and they will be looking to finish it off and enter the semifinal stage when they play their away game on next Tuesday.
