A.S. Roma will travel to Anfield on Tuesday to face Liverpool in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final. Roma have been in sizzling form in their past games as they defeated La Liga leaders, Barcelona in the Quarterfinal while Liverpool too have executed huge teams like Manchester City and Porto. Roma are looking for a payback of their last defeat against Liverpool in the European Cup Final of 1984 which ended in the penalties.
The Italian titans will be going up against their former player, Mo Salah who won the PFA's Player of the Year award a few days ago. Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp said that Salah would understand early in the game that the Romans aren't his teammates anymore. Klopp has been happy with his team's performance and is very confident that they will reach the final. Liverpool are the only team this season who have not lost a single match in the Champions League.
Dzeko is in exceptional form and has been a hero for A.S. Roma many times in this season. The 32 year-old striker used to play at Manchester City and he is certainly the player who Liverpool will try to man-mark at Anfield.
Liverpool played a draw against West Brom last weekend which could be a disadvantage for them. Roma are also not in a striking form in the Serie A this season. Both the teams have a slight chance of not qualifying for the Champions League next season as they are sitting at third place in their respective domestic leagues with other teams gaining in on them.
Possible Lineups:-
Liverpool- Loris Karius, Gomez, Klavan, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Danny Ings.
A.S. Roma- Allison, Bruno Peres, Manolas, Fazio, Strootman, De Rossi, Pellegrini, Radja Nainggolan, Florenzi, Schick, Dzeko.
